Summer Reading

I know you all are ready for school to be out and for summer to start. It isn't much longer. Remember that when you get bored this summer, the library has plenty of things to keep you busy. Our FREE programs start the week of June 16 and are open to all rising 6th through 12th graders. Programs are at 3:30 on Thursdays.

June 16-Geocaching
June 23-Chinese Painting
June 30-Medieval Life Demonstration
July 7-Movie
July 14-African and South American Drumming
July 21-Pizza Party *BY INVITATION ONLY*

We will also be showing movies on Tuesdays at 2:00 starting June 14. Come by the library to find out what movies are going to be shown.

Summer Reading

I can't believe that summer is already here. I know you will be glad to get out of school soon. The library has a variety of programs planned for the summer. We will be showing movies on Tuesdays at 2:00 and having programs on Thursdays at 3:30.

The movies are:
June 15-The Spy Next Door (Rated PG0
June 22-When in Rome (Rated PG-13)
June 29-New Moon (Rated PG-13)
July 6-Invictus (Rated PG-13)
July 13-Dear John (Rated PG-13)
July 20-The Lovely Bones (Rated PG-13)
Movies are FREE and open to 6th through 12th graders. Refreshments will be provided.

The programs are:
June 17-Art with Stephen Guyton
June 24-Marble Paper Journal Craft
July 1-Make Waves of Sound All Around with Jeff Holland
July 8-Movie-Sherlock Holmes
July 15-Sand Art
July 22-Pizza Party *BY INVITATION ONLY*
Programs are open to rising 6th through 12th graders

We will also be giving out prizes for those who read 8 and 16 hours this summer. Please join us for a fun filled summer

Summer Programs

Hey guys. Summer is almost here and we have a variety of programs for you this summer. All programs are FREE and open to rising 6th through 12th graders.

We will be showing movies at 2pm on Tuesdays. Permission slips will be needed for those under 13 to attend the PG-13 movies. The movies are:

June 9-Paul Blart: Mall Cop (rated PG)
June 16-New In Town (rated PG-13)
June 23-Madea Goes to Jail (rated PG-13)
June 30-Inkheart (rated PG)
July 7-Confessions of a Shopaholic (rated PG)
July 15-Push (rated PG-13)

We will have programs on Thursdays at 3:30pm. The programs are:
June 11-Steel Drumming with Chris Lee
June 18-Dance Program with Kelley's Fine Arts
June 25-Balloon Sculpting with Marc Buxton
July 2-Movie (will be chosen by teens at first program)
July 9-Recyclable Art Craft
July 16-Pizza Party *By Invitation ONLY*

May programs

We will not have any programs in May in order to get ready for Summer Reading. The schedule has been set for this summer. I will put it up on the blog in the next few days. We will also be showing movies this summer. Check back soon for the all the things planned for while you are out of school.

Summer Reading's Over

Hey guys. Well we have finished another summer reading program. It was the best one ever. We had a lot of fun and got to learn many new things. Pictures will be added soon. We will be starting programs again in September.

Summer Reading

It's mid May and you need to start signing up for summer reading. It's going to be a great summer. We will hand out the bags at the first program and at the Children's Desk. Please come to all the programs that you can. See you this summer.

Summer Reading Registration

I wanted to remind everyone that summer reading registration begins tomorrow, May 1, and goes until Friday, May 30. Programs are on Thursdays at 3:30. Here are a list of the programs for the summer:

Summer Programs

We have now completed two weeks of the summer reading programs. The storyteller and chinese painting programs were great. Don't forget that we have more programs to come. They are:
June 21-Craft Day
June 28-Blues music
July 5-Movie
July 12-CSI
Feel free to come to any of these programs.

The movies left for the summer are:
June 19-Daddy's Little Girls
June 26-Ghost Rider
July 3-Pride
July 10-Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
July 17-The Bourne Supremacy
Come to these movies on Tuesday nights also.

Don't forget to pick up your bag from the Children's area and write down all that you read. The required reading for school DOES count.

Summer Reading

Registration for Summer Reading started yesterday and will go through the entire month. All programs are free and open to 6th through 12th graders. I think that we have a great summer planned and hope that you will come join in at the programs. If you have any requests for movies to be shown this summer, let me know.

Summer Reading Programs

We have finished programming for the school year. Registration for summer reading will begin next week, starting on May 1. We will be registering the entire month of May and programs will begin on June 7 at 3:30. There will also be teen movies on Tuesday nights, starting June 5, usually at 6pm. I have not gotten finalized the list of movies yet. If you have a request, please let me know. I hope that this will be a great summer.
